Norris: "My risk management has improved, that's the key to fighting for the title"

The McLaren pilot fell behind with mistakes he made in China, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and lost significant points, particularly with his accident in Jeddah.
Teammate Oscar Piastri took three wins during that period, while Norris finished second, third, and fourth, losing a total of 30 points. Although the gap has narrowed to 25 points before Singapore, there's a 199-point opportunity with the remaining seven races.
Norris admitted he still makes mistakes, saying, "I still make mistakes, but not as big as I used to. I've learned to avoid big mistakes like the ones in Saudi Arabia and China that cost me races. Sometimes it's better to accept a half-tenth than a three-tenth."
The British pilot emphasized that he's begun to better balance risk, saying, "My understanding of the car, my driving—everything has improved. This isn't just on the track, but also thanks to the work done behind the scenes. The little things add up to a difference."
Norris said consistent results and controlled risk management would be crucial to catching Piastri in the pre-Singapore title race.
